Migration from IBM Content Manager to Hyland Onbase

HOUSTON, TX, November 06, 2017 -- Data Strategies Int’l, Inc. today reported on the completion of a document archive migration project from IBM Content Manager to Hyland Onbase.

The customer, a large credit union, had been using IBM Content Manager for archiving TIFF, PDF and other documents related to its operations.

The legacy CM system was hosted on a Windows server and used a DB2 database for storing document metadata.

Archival storage was handled by TSM using a mix of Centera, AIX file system and DB2 blobs.

The migration was performed via remote access on customer supplied Windows servers, using DSI’s proven off-line document migration platform.

The project involved extracting 6 TB of TSM objects from Centera storage and the remaining from AIX file system and DB2 blobs.

A particular requirement for this project was the dynamic mapping of legacy documents to target document classes (Onbase doctypes) based on particular index fields.

This allowed the customer to reclassify documents, based on more recent user requirements.

Some 25 million document files with a cumulative size of 7 TB were extracted and delivered in Hyland’s DIP format.

We enjoyed working in close cooperation with both clients to develop the details of the mapping and import specifications.
